This is magic. They disappear when you don't need them and reappear when you do. I'm kidding of course, but they really are amazing. They are the perfect size for my countertop, wash like a dream and store like they don't exist. I've been using one of the 3 packs for almost a year, it's barely scratched, and I'll keep using it until I somehow cut through it. I'm not worried about food cross-contamination as it's easily washed in hot water between uses (and I'm not crazy enough to chop meat on it and then toss veggies without a thorough wash). If you're concerned about this, spray with bleach, vinegar, or whatever you like to decontaminate your items, then wash. You will do well. This is a simple, wonderful product.
