Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Printer Filament - 1.75mm Weight Variation by Timothy Louis

Not worth it, a fibrous filthy sludge that fails again and again.

I bought this because it looked like a good set of PETG filament at a reasonable price. To be honest this stuff is just weird and I couldn't print it properly after playing around with it for a few days. The first clue that this material is going to be weird is the packaging. The outside of the box says PLA, and while individual spools say PETG, the recommended hot-end/layer temperatures are closer to PLA than PETG. Maybe all the numbers are correct, but I was certainly wondering if the labeling is correct based on my experience. It prints fine if you can find the magic numbers for your printer/environment, but I've never been able to find them. I couldn't print well at either the standard PETG temperatures or the recommended temperatures. Tried drying the spools in the oven to rule out moisture issues, tried different settings to see if I could get something to work, different bed prep methods, print speeds, different color spools, worked. I've attached a picture of two temperature test towers, I was just going in when the print head pulled the bottom temperature tower off the base. A typical print with this will consist of a first layer with poor layer adhesion, followed by higher layers curling up and grabbing the nozzle, resulting in giant globs that will ruin the rest of your print. Not worth my time, I opened all the coils when I received them and put them in my dry boxes so I doubt I can return them. $130 for 5kg, admittedly good flowers aren't worth the days I spent troubleshooting.

Pros
  • SAFETY, COMPATIBILITY - Dikale PETG filament is manufactured in a user-friendly and environmentally friendly manner. 1.75mm PETG filament is suitable and compatible with most FDM 3D printers. For example Creality Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, Monoprice Mini Delta, Flashforge Creator 3D printer and others.
