Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Wax Carvers Carving Knives: Professional Tool Set for Pottery, Clay Sculpting & Modeling by Carol Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great cutters for small parts.

These are not the best quality tools but they are great for wax carving. There is some sort of metal pin on the underside of the blade that may have come loose in transit. If this is the case, you can unscrew the stem and then put it back into the head assembly and then tighten it again. The blades are very sharp and ideal for fine detail work. This is not the same as some of the wax chisels available which appear to have thicker edges and larger work surfaces. I could shave very thin slabs of clay, which I could not do with a scalpel or razor. The work surface is much smaller, which allows me to get into smaller spots than usual. My only complaint is that I can only cut right to left with one of the blades while the other blades can cut left to right or away from me. It feels like I accidentally threw a mostly right-handed set with a left-handed blade. All have one side of the cutting edge absolutely flat and the other side sharp. On this particular blade, they seemed to be sharpening the wrong side, if that makes sense. But no problem, I'll try.

Absolute garbage. Too flimsy to carve anything other than bees wax.
