I bought this to extend the wifi signal to the back yard where we only get 1 or 2 bands. Had a terrible time trying to connect it to our wifi. After about 2 hours I finally got it working. One thing I don't see anywhere is how to connect from the outside when elements present a problem. Yes, the unit itself appears to be fairly sealed, but there's a power adapter and plug, which I'm not sure can be opened in wet weather. And the included Ethernet power cord isn't long enough to plug into an outlet that isn't near the device. I ended up plugging it into our detached garage where it is sheltered. Which makes this particular box unnecessary as I could just plug in any wifi extender since it's indoors anyway. However, it seems to be working and our yard is covered with a strong Wi-Fi signal. I've had a few dropouts, but I'll reserve judgment until I've seriously tried using an extension cord - like watching an outdoor movie streaming in the yard.
