I use my laptop as a desktop and have wanted to have at least 2 solid displays on it for a while. I've been working on my MBP with a 23" panel and the lid open for a while, which has worked well, but as I'm getting older and my eyesight is shaking, I really wanted a second 23" display. Unfortunately on Macbook 2008. , you only have one displayport to do stuff with and that started my search for "how the heck do I get a second display for this thing". I finally decided to search for a USB-to-*some* device and selected that. I have to say the results are pretty good for what I was looking for. You probably won't want to watch videos or play games on it (actually I'm pretty sure if you read the specs you'll see what they say about it), but even if you say the video starts on this display, It's not terrible, just a little choppy (still watchable). This is fine for reading documents, programming, surfing the web (again, maybe just avoiding videos), etc.
