For use only

My setup for using this product is: Macbook Pro 17 inch (latest model) with 23 inch Apple Cinema Display. This adapter works with native cinema screen resolution. It gets the job done you get a second screen and it looks good but just a good graphics card very low quality if you rely on that for critical color or detail or for games looking for another solution it worked poorly and seemed to be causing the video to lag significantly when working on a multitrack audio project in Logic Pro Xโ€ฆ

Works with 2015 12 " Macbook and USB-C to USB Adapter

I just received it to use with a new 2015 12" Macbook with USB-C interface. Success. I went to the StarTech website and downloaded the latest (beta) driver for Yosemite. Long story short, I'm using this with a USB-C to USB adapter I bought through Apple. I ran this through a Revain Basics hub and also connected a USB ethernet adapter. Everything seems to be working fine. The picture isn't the best I could have hoped for on Dell's new 24-inch monitor, but it displays a native 1920 x 1024. Hopeโ€ฆ

Got this to install an extra screen on an old 2008 MacBook.

I use my laptop as a desktop and have wanted to have at least 2 solid displays on it for a while. I've been working on my MBP with a 23" panel and the lid open for a while, which has worked well, but as I'm getting older and my eyesight is shaking, I really wanted a second 23" display. Unfortunately on Macbook 2008. , you only have one displayport to do stuff with and that started my search for "how the heck do I get a second display for this thing". I finally decided to search for aโ€ฆ

Works better than expected

Not perfect but I didn't expect perfection. I researched this type of adapter pretty well before I bought it. My goal was to add a third monitor to my 2011 MacBookPro. From my research I realized that they will have some limitations. The only issue I've found so far is that it flickers when certain things are showing. For example, when I open a new tab in Safari and it shows my favorite websites, that part of the Safari window flickers. Since I won't be staying there long, it doesn't matter. My
