We really liked these at first. The only complaint was that there was no way to control the speed and you tended to dump a lot of salt at once. The pepper mill stopped working a day after the 30-day return period expired. It squeaked, but it didn't sound right and nothing came out. Removed the pepper chamber and found the batteries were very warm to the touch, then proceeded to shock his wife on the arm. He took out the batteries and smelled a burning smell coming from where the batteries are. I suspect something broke internally, which would explain the annoying grinding noise it's making now.
