I would like to say that I really like this lock and it offers great protection...however there were a few issues during installation process and installation. I'm not the most skilled, so I hired a professional locksmith and he himself said that he had never seen such a lock design. You'd think that's good and bad, right? Well, he also mentioned that there was a design flaw in the bolt and he had to improvise as the lock didn't push fully into the cylinder in the correct position. He was working his magic. made a larger door lock hole to accommodate the lock. used longer screws and once installed it seemed great. It was easy to set up. Just follow the instructions to see that a lock registers as unlocked and an unlock registers as locked. So to lock I had to use the unlock function... to lock the door with the keypad you just have to press the number key so when the lock mode is toggled you can imagine all you have to do is enter the number to press key and my password should lock which should be vice versa. Easy to close but open with a code. I locked my house because then the reader suddenly stopped working, but luckily I'm Leary's person and I actually left with her security key, which I had to use as a regular lock. I had to remove the back of the lock which was a real headache to find the toggle button as per the troubleshooting guide. I had to flip the toggle switch from one side to the other. Apparently this has happened to others too. But of course I needed YouTube to find out what it looks like and where exactly to find it, because the directions are vague. Listen. Long story short, after ALL those hiccups, everything is going very smoothly now. Fingerprint, keyboard and IC card work the same as security keys. There are several ways to get in, but I think you should always carry your security key with you so you never run the risk of being locked out. It comes with about 5 so you can just toss it on your keychain and keep it in the glove box etc just in case but for now all keyless functions work. I feel safe and it's a very attractive design. It only gave us a heartbeat to get here...note. it runs on batteries!
