Review on πŸ”§ The Ultimate iFixit Manta Driver Kit: 112 Precision Bits for Household & Electronics Repair by Dean Wildfang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality bit set with two convenient handles

I have been carrying the iFixit Mako bit set for a number of years now and it has become my go-to tool when working with computers and other electronics. I wanted another set with more variety so I went for this one and I really like it. It includes the same small handle as the Mako kit, but also a larger handle that comes in handy when you need more leverage to turn a tight screw. This has already helped me in a situation where the small handle from the Mako kit didn't cut even though it had the right bits in it. so strong that it is difficult to pull them out of your grip. The bits themselves are small and there is nothing to grab to pull them out and they hold very tight. The smaller handle does not have this problem. My only other comment is that the Mako set comes in a fairly small box that can easily be thrown in a tool bag. I was surprised how much bigger this one is. I can still take it with me, but sometimes a smaller set is more convenient when space is limited. PROS: * High quality as always from iFixit * Large selection of bits * Two handle sizes; The large one is particularly good * Case lid can be used as a shelf to store parts while you work * Lid is securely attached to case with magnets CONS: * Magnet - large handle is too strong and difficult to pull bits out * Driver case is relatively large in comparison to other iFixit kits. If I had to choose between Mako or this set, I would choose this one. However, I believe Mako has a few things that this one doesn't (and vice versa). If you need to cover all bases, take both! iFixit always has quality tools so you can't go wrong.
