Our pole lasted less than 2 years.First, after about 18 months, the rope began to disintegrate. The outer sheath just crumbled. Had to replace that with a good quality cord.Then we had a storm blow through with winds in the 30 to 40 mph range. We awoke to find our flag pole buckled across our driveway.We would normally remove the flag (which was lit at night) when expecting a storm but we didn't this time. I'm sure that added to the strain on the pole. Regardless, one would expect "steel" to withstand anything short of a tornado.Now, we are buying a US-made replacement pole from veteran-owned company that is 11-gauge aluminum and tested for 70 mph winds. Hopefully, it will last more than 2 years!I don't recommend this WeValor pole.
