I even use it on a variety of papers as long as they aren't very thin and the ink works well.

it dries fairly quickly and doesn't have an oily effect when lit. It's only black, that's what I was looking for. As far as fading goes, I haven't had any issues with fading so far. I use it with brushes and pens with no problems. I even use it on a variety of papers as long as they aren't very thin and the ink works well. The ink itself does not spoil quickly when poured into a small mug. This gives you a good working time, which is great because there's nothing worse than the ink drying on you. A small amount seems to last forever. Keep in mind that due to the rich black color, it will stain. I clean my dip grips all the time so I have no problem with that. But for brushes it is recommended to clean them in a specially designated place. This is not only because the brush is very difficult to remove, but also because of the warning. The label states that it causes eye and skin irritation and may be harmful if inhaled or swallowed. This tells you to use it with proper ventilation. I personally did not notice any strong smell or anything similar from the ink. I haven't had any issues with the warning either. But I work in a well-ventilated area and keep it away from children and pets. Better to be safe than sorry. I really recommend this mascara to every artist. But especially for an artist who starts with ink. These are quality inks that you can experiment with just enough without breaking your piggy bank.

Pros
  • Sumi ink is made from high quality vegetable black.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
