Wonder. - Additive Manufacturing Products

My search for a thread that has strength, heat resistance and a nice finish led me to this thread and I was not disappointed. While I'm not ready to test just how far its heat resistance can extend over different periods of time, I've already been pleased and even impressed with this product. Heat resistance: when I heat treated it in the oven. , it seemed to hold its shape until I preheated the oven to 200+F, which is very impressive. It's worth noting that the recommended temperature to heat treat this filament is around 225-230F, which can cause some warping/shrinkage, but this is barely noticeable and can be controlled with weights or heat treatments on shorter sections. Finish and Strength: Aside from the already impressive heat test results, the finish on this material is the best I've seen on any filament I've printed. There are no traces of layer lines on the second print I made (first photo), which requires no sanding at all. The overall feel is lightweight but very durable. I brought the original test (second photo) to work and used it all day as a stress ball to break it and it didn't break. It wasn't until I got home in the evening that it finally broke after putting all my weight on it while waiting for the heat treatment to harden it. Print Settings: In terms of print settings, I was able to print this on my updated CR-10 with a nozzle temp of 230ยฐC (225ยฐC in the second image, 230 gave the best results) and a bed temp of 60ยฐC and a movement speed of 50 -60mm/s Print complexity is a bit higher and I would recommend an upgraded extruder and hot end for that. Also, be sure to print carbon fiber filament in a well-ventilated area. For more information on this filament, see the filament profile on the manufacturer's website OR the filament database on the Indisposable3D website.
