One of the calipers has a small (~1mm) powder coating chip. It sits right on the front of the caliper so you can see it all the time once installed. I don't know how it passed the test at the factory. When I checked the other caliper after taking it out of the box, I found that the caliper didn't slide as easily as it should. At one point I realized that the slide pins weren't straight (or it could have been the caliper itself). If I mounted them loosely without over-tightening the bolts, the caliper slid fine. After I tightened the screws, it didn't slip. I'm working on pins with a hammer and it's getting better, but I don't have to go through with it. Maybe I'll ask them to send me some spare needles. Edit: I hadn't looked at the second caliper when I wrote the review. It turned out that the second caliper had a few chips/spots on the powder coating.
