You need to change the oil every 8 hours and the position of the drain plug makes it impossible to drain the oil without making a big mess. Remove the original 10mm plug with a socket. Wrench with extension. And screw that extension back. Leaving the dipstick in place will cause a very small amount of oil to spill when you quickly switch between the plug and hose. The only difficulty is that it is almost impossible to reach the hex at the end of the hose to tighten it. Worth the upgrade for easier oil changes.
