Think before you salt πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

For the first time I carry turkeys in a bag. I had two 20 pound turkeys and placed them breast down in each bag on the kitchen counter. Once I started adding the brine, I quickly realized I could never lift these guys, let alone take them to the garage to put in an extra fridge. Then I had a brilliant idea. Place the birds and pouches in the refrigerator, then add the brine. There was now some brine in the bags but it wasn't enough so I had to go back to the kitchen to get more brine. When I opened the fridge door, one of the birds decided to try and escape from the bag. Thankfully it didn't escape the fridge, but it took me about 30 minutes to clean up the mess. Then I decide that an enclosure is needed. I placed each bird in a 15 liter rectangular container and was very proud of myself. Now you need to deflate and attach the bags. I didn't find the blue zipper very helpful, but I ended up closing it and the whole ordeal took about an hour. I'll use them again, but not without some extra effort, and I've learned to do it relatively efficiently, giving me a good chance of beating my own time next year. It's important to note that none of my issues were the fault of the bag. I will definitely do it again next year.
