This allows me to connect my iPad to my 2015 MacBook Pro with the Duet app as an extra monitor, and it's fast enough that there's no noticeable lag. It turned out to be less than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I also like that the USB-C connector is reversible, unlike some others, so I don't have to think about how to plug it in. A quick note on using the iPad as a second monitor - I use the short (3ft) connector. Thunderbolt 3 cable and it works fine on my MacBook Pro. I tried the same setup on my carbon fiber Lenovo X1 with the built in and this USB-A to USB-C adapter and unfortunately found that there was instant hiccups/lag when moving the mouse. It doesn't happen with video so it's probably something software related, but I just wanted to show it to others trying to emulate my setup - it works smoother on a Mac.
