I don't understand why Amazon's Rate Features section is asking about charging performance and camera quality. That's a good adapter. This is not a universal tool.

does not transmit at 10 Gbps

this adapter never transmits faster than USB 3.0. I'm getting 30MB/s on USBA 3.2 ports with USBC cables, which typically hit 300MB/s with the same drive. Very disappointed and too late to return.

This item has a purpose in this world.

Some cables are slowly moving to Type-C cables. I envision a future where most devices will use Type-C for loading and transferring files. I bought them mainly to charge my phone and game controllers with Type-C. I've seen a huge improvement charging my phone with these adapters. Game controllers charge faster over Type-C. For that reason alone, this purchase was worth it.

Fast and easy to use

This allows me to connect my iPad to my 2015 MacBook Pro with the Duet app as an extra monitor, and it's fast enough that there's no noticeable lag. It turned out to be less than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I also like that the USB-C connector is reversible, unlike some others, so I don't have to think about how to plug it in. TL;DR: This unit appears to work as advertised in a simple test. Flipping the data cable doesn't slow the device down to USB 2.0 like other adapters do. Can't handle 10Gb/s

I connected a UGreen NVME to USB enclosure to this adapter to connect to my USB-A 3.1 Gen2 ports on my X570 motherboard be able. It's very unreliable - I've seen a few problems. Firstly, the device freezes when Windows tries to boot it, secondly, the transfer speed increases and decreases, and even attempts to simply format the drive often do not work.
