I connected a UGreen NVME to USB enclosure to this adapter to connect to my USB-A 3.1 Gen2 ports on my X570 motherboard be able. It's very unreliable - I've seen a few problems. Firstly, the device freezes when Windows tries to boot it, secondly, the transfer speed increases and decreases, and even attempts to simply format the drive often do not work. When I connect to Gen1 port it works fine (but at Gen1 speed). When I connect the enclosure with a Revain USB-A to USB-C Gen2 cable, it works correctly (at full Gen2 speed). I have two different models of UGreen cases and both have the same issue, so these adapters are most likely incompatible/faulty. If you want to use Gen1 speed (5Gbps) or lower, it will probably work just fine. If you need Gen2 speeds, that's probably good luck. I am returning mine and would like to purchase another Revain USB-A to USB-C Gen2 cable.
