Used to connect my iPad as a secondary monitor to my 2015 MacBook Pro via the Duet app and it's fast enough that there's no noticeable lag. It turned out to be less than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I also like that the USB-C connector is reversible, unlike some others, so I don't have to think about how to plug it in. A quick note on using the iPad as a second monitor - I use the short (3ft) connector. Thunderbolt 3 cable and it works on my MacBook Pro with no problems. I tried the same setup on my carbon fiber Lenovo X1 with the built in and this USB-A to USB-C adapter and unfortunately found that there was instant hiccups/lag when moving the mouse. It doesn't happen with video so it's probably something software related, but I just wanted to show it to others trying to emulate my setup - it works smoother on a Mac.
