Review on 🎡 Acoustic Audio Goldwood HD728: In-Wall/Ceiling Home Theater 7.2 Surround Sound Speakers (9 Speakers, 7.2 Channels, 8 Inch, White) by Dang Esq

This is great value. The sound is acceptable. Can be very loud if you have the right hardware to power your speakers.

It was worth it. My only complaint about the order, and you might not be so lucky, is that I ordered 6.5 inch speakers and got 8 inch speakers. Other than that, it's great. I had to confirm with Revain that prior to installation I would have no problem with a return as I would be cutting larger holes in my walls than stated in my order. Revain's customer service was top notch and I was assured that if there was a problem during the return period I would receive a correct replacement for what I had installed. Let's go to the product test. It's not the best choice for audiophiles; They don't drain your wallet enough for that. Still, I'm very happy with them as a replacement for the main surround sound that was originally in my theater room. Please excuse the incomplete installation process in the photos (don't know why it's upside down, sorry); we are renovating this area. The installation process was pretty easy. The speakers came with templates that had to be traced to size the cut outs in the drywall. One complaint during the installation process: the clips that attach the speakers to the walls didn't always tighten as you might expect. I had to tighten the screws on the mounting clips until they became a little harder to turn, then back off about a half turn until the clip clicked, then tighten further. I may have broken a few before figuring it out, but it looks like it didn't affect the install. Keep this in mind as you install each speaker. Performance after installation: I think actual results will depend on what you're using to power these speakers. I use a Denon AVR-X3400H which is around 95 watts per channel and sounds good to me. One complaint that comes up frequently in reviews of this set of speakers is that the subwoofers are not powered. None of the speakers are powered. The power comes from your sound source. If your audio source has a subwoofer line-out, you will need an external amplifier to power the subwoofers. What you really need is some sort of amplification for all the speakers. In short, find out what your receiver can do before you expect it. My receiver has subwoofer line outs, so I bought a Gemini XGA-4000 to power the subwoofers. They do well if you feed them properly. Acoustic Audio recommends using a small amplifier for each subwoofer. It was cheaper to buy a Gemini to power both subwoofers. Also of note is that in my particular setup I took the ceiling/wall mounted round speakers and placed them in the second zone. They are located 15 meters from the receiver and sound very good. My only criticism of these speakers is that I wish baffles were available for the back of the speakers. When cranked up in volume, they will absolutely rattle your walls. I can pack interior walls with more insulation to reduce this. Again, this problem is more related to the environment in which they are installed. Overall, I was initially skeptical about buying surround speakers at such a low price. So not only am I very happy with how they look once installed in the wall, but also with the fact that they sound great. In the future I will most likely get another set for my main living area.
