Although the switch itself serves the purpose, the indicator should not be used! The indicator light gets VERY hot and will burn your finger if you try to turn it off. I use this rocker switch in combination with a Bosch relay to power an 18 watt (1.5 amp) LED bulb, so very little current flows through the switch itself. I have never had this problem with a rocker switch so use caution when purchasing this product. The check engine light gets hot enough to cause serious damage to your vehicle or wherever you are using it. Luckily, I didn't notice how hot it was until a few minutes after turning it on before it became a big problem. I am currently using this switch with the display off to prevent damage to my car until I get new switches. You have been warned to stay away from these switches!
