I would like some carrier sheets that will allow me to do some basic work and experiment before I get to the final work. These carrier sheets are perfect for dies. This is important because I've had some shipping issues where I've put boxes in standing puddles causing boxes to fall apart in my hands. Wrapping them in plastic will help protect them if something like this happens to you. SURFACESurface This paper is cold pressed. This is 140lb. watercolor paper. You can use both sides as both have the same surface. TEXTURE It has good texture. You can remove paint from it fairly well, depending on how dirty the paint is. I'm talking about watercolor here. CAN YOU RINSE ON IT? This can handle watercolor or gouache, but I highly recommend that you buy a gatorboard first and attach paper to it. This will really help keep it from warping or warping if you plan on washing it a lot. THE BINDING The binding here is meant to be split so you can fold it back, but one of mine had glue on it to the first page which made it almost unusable. I had to cut it off to use it. But the other one was ok. WHAT I USE FOR THIS: Gouache, watercolor, thin pencils, some gel pencil accents and watercolor pencils (with sparse detail from regular colored pencils). BOTTOM LINE This paper is very suitable for watercolor, gouache and even acrylic if you want to add a little accent to the picture. It will handle ink pens but I wouldn't use alcohol markers for this as you will waste ink. MY RATING IS FIVE STARS. Despite the glue flaw, these pads are decent quality and I still enjoy them. They seem to do very well in aquatic environments.
