Do you have any idea how hard it is to find something that accepts an HDMI signal and outputs a DVI signal? Exceptionally, you will find VGA. HDMI input, VGA output. Like $7, works great, a billion alternatives to choose from if one brand doesn't work. Just like a cake. What about HDMI-HDMI+Audio? Yes, they are probably 2-3 times more expensive, but they are available and work relatively well. This is a smaller use case but makes sense, some monitors don't support audio and you need to split the audio output even if the cable supports audio. Logical. And HDMI to DVI + Audio? You can endure disappointments. It will be annoying. Lots of solutions consisting of cheap [blackened] products that probably won't work half the time. I have returned 4 different products that claimed to be the solutions I needed but were not. It works out. It's not expensive, it's only around $20, but it's nowhere near free like all the other alternatives, but it works, it just works, plug it in and it works. Hallelujah. Tested DVI, HDMI and VGA outputs, all support audio. Its magical. Is there a delay? image degradation? sound problems? I can't honestly say so I don't care.
