Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak JoeBlow Sprint Bicycle Floor Pump, 160 PSI/11 BAR, TwinHead by Jason Sisawang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No problem, good for cycling

I bought one of these over 5 years ago and use it 2 or 3 times a week on average. At some point the hose burst. I contacted their support team via email and they sent me a new hose and head. Recently, the main o-ring on the piston has failed to seal properly. Adding lube helped for a while but apparently the rubber got too hard. I emailed their support team and they said to call parts ordering to purchase one. At this point I decided to order a new pump - it's good to have a spare pump in the car or for spares. I later called their parts order hotline and they offered to send an O-ring for free when they weren't supposed to. Topeak/Todson's support used to be legendary - maybe they're getting less generous now. I like the Twinhead cartridge. The only downside is that it's sometimes difficult to apply to car tires when the hubcap is in the way. I suspect that the reviewers who complain about problems with Presta valves are unaware of these valves, which sometimes get stuck inside. I've found in the past that cartridges that are supposed to fit every valve just don't work properly. The edges of the metal base are quite sharp and may scratch the wooden floor. I smoothed mine out a bit with a file. Edit: The new o-ring held the old pump in place. The new ring has become noticeably larger in diameter. It looks like the old one has just shrunk with age rather than cracked or worn out.

Pros
  • Cycling
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
