I bought this for a guy who wanted his cable box in a closet. All together, pretty easy. The blue light is flashing and even my IR port (which I plugged in to test). I can't control anything on this cable box. Then I put the flasher on the Blu-ray player and can of course control it. What the hell! I've tried putting a turn signal on the entire window to find a middle ground, knowing that the BrightHouse Science Atlantic 8300HD and all of its boxes can be a problem. But nothing. That's the whole reason for the purchase. I didn't understand why I couldn't control the cable box. After finally contacting these guys they told me I need a dual IR receiver as the box might work on a different frequency. Okay, that cost me another $27. It worked and my cable box became manageable. I'm still pissed why the dual IR receiver doesn't come standard in this kit? The average person won't be aware of the different frequencies, and like me, who has installed things like this before with no problems, probably won't even notice that anywhere in the description of this item there is a mention of just one frequency; without really warning you that it won't work with anything like that other device. This got the job done, but my clients week of worrying about running 70ft of coax cable across the floor so the box could stand next to the TV instead of in the closet where it was supposed to be could have been saved if this wasn't the case would have been a problem.
