My sulcata tortoise and I love them!

I have a 7 month old striped turtle and have been using mulch from the pet store since the day I got her. The problem with mulch is that it's very messy, has sharp edges (which can damage my cake) and doesn't look that clean. I absolutely love this Repti Bark! It smells clean, has a light appearance and is excellent at absorbing moisture to maintain humidity (which is currently around 90%). Before you think about mulching your substrate again, give this material a try. The bag will last at least 2 uses in a 36" terrarium! It's great! 2/24/15 continued. I've been using repti-bark for a few weeks now. It has kept a very clean look and is very handy. The only thing before what I'm afraid of is that the pieces might be too big for my little turtle to walk on.He seems to stumble a lot and I've also noticed that some areas of his legs are shedding scales possibly due to the size of the bark, scratching his little feet. I hope it's not because I still love this stuff; maybe it's just normal growth retardation. I'll be very disappointed if this barking does more harm than good to my baby. I plan to in to continue for a few weeks.
