Description of Zoo Med Reptile Bedding Quarts Reptiles & Amphibians best: Terrarium Bedding, Sand & Substrate

100% pure fir bark that's washable and re-useable, simply soak in hot water ever 2-3 months for fresh and clean bark. Smaller pieces help to prevent crickets from hiding in the substrate. The ideal substrate for Green Iguanas and any other humidity love reptiles as bark slowly releases moisture into the environment. Not heat treated so it gives the bark better moisture retention. Repti Bark helps to replicate your pet's natural tropical habitat and aids in shedding and respiratory functions, and is conducive to natural burrowing and digging.

Perfect fit for my Russian tortoise!

My cake likes to dig into the substrate! I've bought this several times but the last time there were springtails in the substrate because it was wetter when I opened it. I went on reddit thinking it was mites but they were identified as springtails and didn't harm my turtle. They actually eat decaying things like leftover food and turtle droppings. I usually clean up leftover food, so springtails only reproduce from moisture and feces. At first I was outraged, but honestly everything is fine…

My sulcata tortoise and I love them!

I have a 7 month old striped turtle and have been using mulch from the pet store since the day I got her. The problem with mulch is that it's very messy, has sharp edges (which can damage my cake) and doesn't look that clean. I absolutely love this Repti Bark! It smells clean, has a light appearance and is excellent at absorbing moisture to maintain humidity (which is currently around 90%). Before you think about mulching your substrate again, give this material a try. The bag will last at…

Used for Greek tortoise, praying mantis and hamster. quality goods!

My Greek Turtle loves these bedding. Well, I can't say for sure since he doesn't speak. But if he did, he would tell everyone how he buries himself in this bed all day and sleeps for hours like the lazy idiot that he is. This is the perfect dry substrate for the tortoise. Wood chips are made up of nice, smooth little pieces that don't branch or split. Leftover food and odd little turtle piles are easy to spot, leaving his paddock fresh and clean. I also used this bedding for a house mantis…
