SMARTKEY PROBLEM (explained below) This is a good locking/entry lever. It's nice and heavy, and the mechanisms seem really solid. I love the brass finish and how it looks. However, I had a problem - I bought it because of the SmartKey technology. I wanted to be able to use the same key for our deadbolt and new lock/lever. Our old door knob and latch used the same key so I figured it would work. HOWEVER, one thing that couldn't be easily explained on the order page (and I'll admit maybe it's there, but not very prominently). SmartKey only works with certain subkeys - it takes finding out at your hardware store which keys work with it. HM? And the key to our deadbolt is not the key that fits this lock. It doesn't even fit in the lock, let alone with the smart key. Anyway, well, that would be a nice feature. Now we have a nice/working lever, latch and two keys. I know I can call a locksmith to fix anything, but it costs more than this lever and our deadbolt combined.
