I really wanted to like this product but unfortunately I will be returning it. At first I was happy to use it to press both garlic and ginger and after a preliminary check the garlic press turned out to be well made. It's interesting that the silicone pads are inside the grips and not outside... sort of an aesthetic or something... I'm not sure. So the main mistake was that I used it while my hands were freshly washed and still very wet. The garlic press slipped into my hands as I squeezed and the garlic flew randomly everywhere... not good. Also, I had the same experience as another customer that the garlic came out from the top and sides (inside) and not through the pressing holes. I had to scrape off the bit of garlic that had seeped through the pressing holes. Finally, when it came to ginger...the experience was even worse. In fact, the press squeezed the juice out of small pieces of ginger, and what little (very little) that escaped through the holes for the press had to be scraped off with a knife. It was a strange experience. Cleaning the press was not difficult. I found pieces of ginger in the press holes and as other customers have mentioned a small peeling tool was not included. So I had to get my hands dirty squeezing the garlic and ginger and digging up the remaining pressed bits throughout the process. Here are some things to keep in mind when using this press.
