Pretty simple tool. Easy to use and clean. I wish the cup part wasn't so flared. Update: I've been using this for a while and I have to say it's really good. Presses quickly and is really durable! I think I'll have it for a while!

The garlic press arrived in three separate parts. The nut in the center won't stay in place and can easily fall into the food. Very disappointed and not recommended. I contacted the company directly about this as there was a little postcard there encouraging me to do so, but I'm posting it here as a word of warning to anyone who may wish to purchase this based on the many good reviews, as I have.

With this garlic press, all you have to do is peel and toss the garlic cloves, squeeze the handles and voila! The result is a thin paste that's perfect for frying, braising, or any other cooking method you use. Sometimes a piece of clove will squeeze out of the press, especially if you put a few cloves in it. I just open the press and slide the scatter pieces back in. Weak metal bends under pressure! I only used garlic for this press and shortly after that the two sides didn't fit together due to the metal bending and warping and coming apart at the seams. I'm not a tight grip bodybuilder. But I'm a mom, so most likely a comparable strength. I really wanted to like this product but unfortunately I will be returning it. At first I was happy to use it to press both garlic and ginger and after a preliminary check the garlic press turned out to be well made. This garlic press fits comfortably in the hand. It's durable, a good weight and seems like it should hold up well. Haven't seen any rust or anything like that so far so good.
