This is a really good product, but it's only on PAPER. The following is the biggest issue I have with this product that makes it literally unusable. First a short introduction about me, I am a network engineer and my job is to manage and configure network products on a daily basis. Besides that, this SAN is not stable when online. That means you can connect to the dashboard from your network and remotely for the first few days, but after that it disappears from all connection points, meaning you can't connect to a device or dashboard no matter what you do . Worst of all, all the information on the small blue screen on the device shows that everything is working fine. There is a physical power button on the front of the device, but it does nothing no matter how long you hold it down. It's like the machine just freezes and freezes. The only way to reset the unit is to unplug the power cord, which is the last thing I want to do with spinning disc products. My mistake was not getting it back in time thinking I could fix it. For those of you who are facing this problem or thinking about buying one, all the solutions that are offered on the forums on the internet such as: B. Setting a static IP address and restoring the system WILL NOT SOLVE this problem. I called WD support and instead of trying to fix the problem they will just return it. What really pissed me off is that they told me they would pay shipping this time as a courtesy. So your product is defective and I have to pay for the return?! it's just absurd. Please save your money and DO NOT buy this junk.------------------------- ------------- - ------------------------------------------------- - ------ ------------------Update 8/8 I called WD about 8 times to get a simple prepaid shipping label for their defective product. It's 2017 and WD cannot provide a basic shipping label because "their servers are down". From the looks of it, they're taking over a week to fix their servers. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, especially when it comes to customer service. Please save your money and time and stay away from them. I would like to give them 0 stars.
