Good product, long and hopefully helpful review

Installed on a 2010 GMC 2500HD. A complete kit is installed along with an onboard air-lift compressor and gauges. For starters, this is a great product. Just installed today. This is a long review but hopefully it helps the next person. Don't try to install this if you are a beginner. I'm by no means a pro, but I've installed hundreds of snow throwers, spreaders, and defrosters so I have a lot of experience with aftermarket accessories. I would give it a try unless you are at least an intermediate level mechanic, even if it's just for the necessary tools. In all I probably had around 7 hours to install (one) but a good 1.5 hours went into where I was going to mount the compressor, sensors and solenoid. I made a complete kit with a built in compressor. The kit arrived very well packed in the factory box, all hoses, fasteners, parts are somewhere and packed separately. I highly recommend reading the instructions carefully a few times before you begin. They skip a bit and give important hints, but not in order. Some instructions contain a torque wrench that most do-it-yourselfers don't even have at first. Unless it's just this kit you won't be able to get a torque wrench for the top bolts like he says. Take your time and plan your installation. You will need jacks and a good jack. The instructions say to support the axle with jack stands, which is incorrect. You will need to support the frame with jack stands so you can use the jack to move the tail up and down for installation. Incidentally, with overhead lines not 1 leak after installation, take your time with cuts. Make sure they are cut very cleanly and don't have any beveled edges. I've made sure my cuts are perfect, leaving enough slack not only for movement but also in case I need to cut. I used a sharp razor. When you insert them into the choke you will feel a slight pop, you need to keep pushing them to land the airline. This is probably where most people have air problems. They will pop out a little and then advance another 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Practice before trying under a truck, they are easy to remove if I push the pressure fitting in and pull the hose back out. The supercharger works great up to about 50 pounds, then it slows down a bit, but what do you expect from a tankless system? less than $200. Pump up to 90 pounds for a test in about 3 or 4 minutes. When installing the wiring, you'll need some "add a fuse" kits to attach it to the fuse panels. Most parts stores sell them for about $7. They are not included. Lastly I used an extra bulb and the 1 I bought to run a hand line to the rear number in case the supercharger failed or just to keep the pressure in them safe for riding. Hope that helps a little.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Minor issues
