Some of these reviews call it "useless". I confess that it didn't work at first, so I had to think it over. I drained 20W-50 and 10W-40 oil from my VW TDI engine. Of course, first make sure the oil is warm. The key was to trim the large orange tube as it tends to squash under inflationary pressures. There are now only a few inches between the pump and the adapter of the smaller black hose that goes to the oil pan. Cut it to the size you want - no longer oil passage and more friction than necessary. After that, at least in the case of oil, it's less of a siphon and more of a pump. Pay attention to the ideal pump frequency. You'll suck a little, then it stops (it's oil, after all), so pump again. The 5 second intervals worked well for me and despite the effort it was still less time than if I had to jack the car up. For me, water is a siphon. Is it cheaply made? Of course yes, so the price is cheap. Don't treat it like titanium or kryptonite and you'll be fine. Useful tool for the price.
