This product is well made and useful for a laptop or computer with a USB-C port. Since most computers only have a "C" port, you will need a hub with a USB port in addition to the input. C output that this device has. I would prefer an outlet on a hub with a short cord with plugs on both ends in case you need to extend it. Most of these products appear to have a short internal cord (this is only 4 inches long). I would also find it more useful with 4 USB 3 outputs - two is pretty rudimentary. A big plus - I connected Seagate. An external USB 3 drive and it allowed for very large backups in a very short time. It was really very fast to transfer data. There are no instructions, and the power-only socket is difficult to identify. There is a very small symbol on the clamshell and box to indicate which power connector is poorly marked. The lack of instructions and the fact that there are only two connectors made me rate it a 4. USB-C is a relatively new device with new features, and it would be nice to have more, not less, guides on how to use such a product.
