I love this thing. I mainly use it for Plex servers and backups for some of my computers. For Plex it's great if you have 1080p movies. Since I don't have 4K, I can't comment on that. But for 1080p it works fine. I used to have a Synology DS212j, store my movie files on it, but run a Plex server from a Mac Mini for transcoding. After tuning, I realized how bad this setup was. Having movies and transcoding on the same device works MUCH better. All movies on my Roku and other smart devices load higher resolution movies much faster and smoother than ever before. The only downside I would say is that the Plex server app doesn't update automatically like other native apps do. . But that's okay, it's easy to update if needed. Qsync is great too. I use it to sync all specified folders and files on my home, work and laptop computers. You can sync any folders and files. Couldn't live without it (as an IT pro).
