This thing made my kitchen look 15 years younger! I was about to think about putting new tile on the floor because I couldn't get the grout anywhere near clean (they weren't sealed when we bought the house). Clean the grout only once with a toothbrush and soft scrub. Here are some application techniques I learned through trial and error; Some of these are on the bottle and others seem obvious, but once you do, the job becomes a lot easier: I worked one area of the floor at a time, starting at one edge, and made a strip 2 feet wide across the room. I'm middle-aged, I don't have the best back in the world, and it was pretty exhausting. Spreading the work over several days made it easier for me. This is obvious, but make sure you get the floor, especially the grout, as clean as possible before you begin. I've used Spic and Span and a cleaning brush and even scraped off some spots with a knife if it was really dry. Wait until the soil is completely dry before you begin. Apply a little Grout Refresh to the grout in the far corner of the area you wish to cover (but not directly on the wall), then brush back with a toothbrush. and forward along the groove. A little goes a long way, so it's best to start small. You want to avoid excess both on and off the grout line - a thin coat will do, I promise. Set a timer for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, take a clean rag (microfiber towels work well) and dampen it with warm water. It should be nice and damp, but not very wet. Starting at a corner, lightly rub the rag back and forth along the grout lines. The product you put on the grout will stick, but what you put on the smooth tile will wash off. Rinse the rag and continue wiping gently until all of the air freshener is removed outside of the crevices. Be sure to wipe the tile clean, because when the flake dries for 24 hours, it must be scraped off with a knife. If you have a lot out of the lines, this step is MUCH more work. In addition, if you apply the air freshener too thickly, a piece of grout may come loose, resulting in an uneven finish. The instructions say to dry it for two hours without moving. I had a hard time keeping my cats away from him, but didn't notice them leaving any tracks. You can enter it after a few hours, but don't let it get wet for 24 hours. I added a photo and as you can see my floor looked gross. It's been a few months since I applied this stuff and it still looks the same as the day I did it. When it gets dirty I just mop the floor and the grout cleans up just as easily as the tiles. Highly recommended!
