One of the most common overheating problems on 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees is the fan relay. Installation was easy enough and I was happy that it came with lots of extras like thermal paste, wiring harness etc. The feeling went away very quickly, within 3 days the relay was defective! Much worse than OEM. You see, when the factory version fails, the machine just overheats a little, about 20 degrees more than it should. With this relay, either the fan stays on all the time even when the machine is off, or it doesn't provide the right voltage to spin at the appropriate speed. As a result, my car overheated twice to the end of the scale! I ended up having to hook up a McGuyver fan directly to the battery to get home. Don't waste your time with this.
