They work, but in unexpected ways.

These little pegs seemed like a suitable replacement for my myriad of bookshelves that lacked proper support. The pens are durable and installing them is fairly easy. However the top of the pen is too thick so when the shelf is lowered onto the pens it sits on top of the peg rather than on the actual peg platform. The shelves fit perfectly in the closet, so the thick pin tops prevent the shelf from sliding all the way down. They still work, however, as the shelves that rest on the tips of the pins still provide ample support for my books.
