Review on Hioki 3246-60 HiTester Pen-Sized DMM with Flashlight, 42 MΩ, 600V by Chris Chincuanco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for basic testing and carrying in tight spaces. Autorange is very fast.

Excellent product. Its purpose is to do basic testing, in my case to fit into the bike's limited tool space. The instructions are on paper, in English only, and very well written. Easy to use. 4199 counts. The tips are gold plated. Rated voltage 600V CAT3. About Ohm: Autorange is very fast. Sound signal tick-tic-tic when switching to the desired range. It also has a manual range. Continuity: firm and fast. The beeper isn't very loud, but that's to be expected with such a tiny meter. Diode: Tests up to 2V but no millivolt reading. Instead, it shows (----) in reverse polarization and (-OO-) in direct polarization along with the audio signal. Green LED on.Volt: Autorange is on.BLITZ! quickly. It also has a manual range. Very accurate. In volts DC, the smallest scale is 420.0 mV. For AC, the smallest scale is 4.2V, and this is average rectification, not true RMS. The light that lights up when measuring is excellent. The display backlight is a little dim, but that's to be expected when the power source is a CR2032 battery. It's easy to press HOLD when measuring with both hands, but the pen tester must be held with the right hand to display the value.
