Nice little meter, best in multitester

Nice little meter. Very handy to have with you at work. My front end fell apart so it was glued together but it still works.

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Not sure

Costs money. - Tester

I'm a licensed electrician with a bunch of tools and the smaller the tools the better. I have had this model many times over the past 6 years. Accidentally broke the 1

  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Seems to be more durable than other devices I've had.

I have spent more on this product hoping its durability claims will be correct. Appears to be well built. However, my concern is that the test lead is permanently connected as this bend can be a weak point and tedious to repair.

Ideal for lighting in film production. Good value for money.

This is a replacement for the exact same one I had for 10 years. The original started giving bad voltage readings even after changing the battery. This new one is working great so far. Many people I work with in the film industry use this model as it is very simple and easy to wear all day. It became the "industrial replacement" for the old Wavetek pen counters people used to have. The price is right too!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Nothing here

So far so good on multitester

I usually use a dm73 meter that looks like this but is sold under different names. The only thing that makes this gauge both good and possibly bad is that I'm concerned about the tiny wire it has. The wire is small enough that it has a loop holder for it on the back (instead of wrapping it around the gauge like on the dm73), this prevents the wire from fraying and nobody likes a frayed wire when testing high voltage. The reason I say this could be bad is because the wire is so small it seems…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent product. Its purpose is to do basic testing, in my case to fit into the bike's limited tool space. The instructions are on paper, in English only, and very well written. Easy to use. 4199 counts. The tips are gold plated. Rated voltage 600V CAT3. About Ohm: Autorange is very fast. Sound signal tick-tic-tic when switching to the desired range. It also has a manual range. Continuity: firm and fast. The beeper isn't very loud, but that's to be expected with such a tiny meter. Diode…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Good for pocket before it breaks

I work as a movie lighter and this is a small pocket item that I carry with me on set. This is the minimum I need, AC and DC voltage and continuity. The LED backlight at the end and the backlit display come in handy at night or on a dark stage. While the plastic caps to protect the test leads are a thoughtful addition on this model (they shorted me out in tight spots), I wish there was a more elegant way to add them. They just turn on and off, and since most of the applications I use the meter…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Well made and well designed

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering and while it doesn't really matter I hope I can at least be trusted to check a multimeter. I think we'll see! Unless you have a good reason to avoid it, I recommend the feather type for home use. You often do not have a convenient place to place the meter where you can see it, so in practice you often have to hold the meter and both terminals in your hands. Obviously it would be more convenient if the meter were smaller and integrated into one of the feed…
