Review on Park Tool PMP 3 2 Mini Frame by Scott Clayton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Presta valve not working. could be a bad block.

Purchased primarily for commuting comfort with 700 x 45 tires (80psi max). Chose this pump over the larger PMP-4.2 mini-pump for its higher maximum pressure (100psi vs. 90psi), making it more useful on other bikes with higher tire pressures. Tested and could not get the pump to stall. to the presta valve. I have an old Park PFP-3 floor pump which requires some dexterity to hook and unhook on the Presta valves but otherwise works well. I twisted and squeezed harder than I was comfortable with on this PMP 3.2 micropump and still couldn't secure it over the valve. Build quality seemed good, although I was surprised that the butt could be pulled right out of the body. It's also disappointing that it's made in China. I thought all Park instruments were still made in the USA. It may have been a defective unit, but overall I wasn't impressed with the pump. May consider a larger Park Mini pump but will likely try another manufacturer first.
