Review on πŸ’» Efficient ORICO M3H4-G2 USB 3.1 Hub: 4 Port Aluminum Data Hub with 10Gbps Super Speed for Desktop PC and Laptop by Katie Lee

Didn't work for me at 10Gbps

I couldn't get this to work reliably at 10Gbps with devices that worked correctly when plugged directly into the PC port. I first tried using this with the included USB-A to USB-A cable and a 10Gbps USB 3.1 port on my PC. It just runs and never connects properly. I then tried connecting it to a 20Gb/s USB-C port on my PC (Startech PEXUSB321C add-on card). As others have experienced, I couldn't get this to work at all when trying to connect a 'certified' 10Gbps 'male' USB-C to USB-A 'male' Use cables in either of the two USB-C orientations. It also doesn't work with USB-C to USB-C and a short USB-C "female" and "male" USB-A connection to a hub. (Again, all are said to be rated at 10 Gbps). I then tried using the short USB-C male to USB A female to USB-C adapter and the included USB A male to USB A male cable. for connecting to an external USB 3.2 Gen 2 drive. However, when using Crystal Diskmark, the removable USB device is disconnected and reconnected at the beginning of the test, so it does not work properly. Finally, connecting directly to a USB 3 port at 5Gb/s seemed to work (but only at 5Gb/s). expected to connect two ports directly to a PC (USB-A or USB-C). So my main complaints *) The included USB-A to USB-A cable seems special as several different cables and adapters don't work at all when trying to connect to a PC's USB-C port. Only the included cable and a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter worked at all when trying to connect to a PC's USB-C port. *) Didn't work at any speed with my (old) USB-A USB 3.1 10Gb/s port. *) I could only get it to work as a good old 5Gbps hub. Attempting to use this at 10Gbps connected to a USB-C port with an adapter (presumably rated for 10Gbps) is completely unreliable. Maybe mine is bad, but I suspect it's just not compatible.
