We have a SnapMaker 3D printer at work and the 3D printer works well with another brand of filament, we have never used Snapmaker brand filament in this machine. I also have a Creality printer at home. Since the Snapmaker gear worked so well at work, I decided to try their PLA filament at home. I printed a small 20x20 test cube and the material seemed to work fine so I started a larger project. The nozzle started clogging after about an hour. After some research I thought maybe the material was absorbing moisture but the climate I live in didn't seem to affect other brands of material I've used. I bought a filament dryer, left the spool in the dryer for 12 hours and found that after drying the spool weight decreased by 2 grams so I thought great, problem solved. no During this last run I noticed that the roller on the dryer side was being pulled up while the extruder was pulling the entire dryer towards the printer. I let it happen just to see how many times it happened. After 2 hours the dryer loaded with almost 1kg of filament was pulled about 5 inches across the table to the extruder before the filament started to slide in the extruder. The filament got stuck in the spool and was pulled to the printer. I ran a few more trials with different drying conditions, hotend and work surface temperatures just to be sure. In summary, I think the Snapmaker hardware is very good, but I would avoid any of their PLA filament unless you want someone standing at the machine to make sure the filament unwinds! Although I've done this for a couple of smaller projects I had and while the parts came out "ok" they didn't seem to have the same "quality appearance" as other brands and it took a few tests to figure it out to find a hot end and a series of layer temperatures that worked even with this material. SnapMaker seems to have good hardware, but they shy away from their PLA filaments.
