This is a 1980's 15 speed model that I refurbished and converted to a single speed for my wife. The original tires were 26 x 2.25. I wanted to use a tire with less rolling resistance. I tried a set of 37 x 559 (26 x 1 3/8) tires but my rims are too wide and this tire size didn't suit me. These Finnci tires are sold as "53x559" when they are actually "50x559" shaped. I agree because I wanted a narrower tire. Overall, I like them so far, but the price is quite high. They are essentially Walmart tires. Because of this insidious dance, Walmart (stores near me) did not stock 26 inch bike tires.
