I really wish it would work

I really wanted this product to work and for the most part it works. However, it does have one BIG downside in my opinion. Attached monitors do not go to sleep regardless of whether the attached computers are in sleep mode, turned off, or completely disabled. I asked the manufacturer and his answer confirmed my words. There is no workaround. Another minor annoyance is that this device has a USB hub that switches with the displays. While EDID eliminates annoying system noises when connecting/disconnecting hardware in Windows, the USB hub switches so that you hear "hardware connect" and "hardware disconnect" system tones with each toggle (assuming you're using Windows). I don't use a USB hub and wish there was a way to turn it off to avoid further warnings. I've tried changing the Windows settings to not assign sound files to connect/disconnect events. But that means doing it on every connected Windows computer. Pros: EDID (no added delays when switching videos), a big plus and one of the few KVMs to actually include this feature; 4K60 cons: no power management; there is no way to disable the built-in USB hub; loose HDMI connectors (they work, but don't seem very reliable, and cables sometimes come loose when moving the box); 7-segment blue LED display is very bright; The size is slightly larger compared to CLau units. Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros so I fear this one will be returned.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
