We used this to travel from Houston, Texas to Atlanta, Georgia. We rode a Yukon XL so it fit nicely on top. I put it on the car myself (37/female). It was pretty easy. I mean, considering what you actually do, it was easy. It contained 2 large, very full suitcases, one medium-sized suitcase, two small, full, oblong suitcases. I checked it regularly throughout the trip, never had to tighten it. In fact, it was surprisingly quiet, I almost forgot he was up there. I mostly drove the interstate at 60-75 mph, sometimes hitting 80 aimlessly a few times. I tried to slow it down with a heavy load on the roof of my car. I will say that even at such speeds he showed himself perfectly. There are velcro tabs on the ends of the straps to keep them in place so they don't dangle and they work great. Luckily for us but not for review we didn't get caught in the rain so can't comment on how waterproof it was. I will say that it seemed to me that it would be very waterproof and I was sure it would work in the rain on our trip. Luckily we had clear skies the whole time. It didn't scratch my car, it didn't slip, I tightened the seat belts incredibly tight so I'm sure it helped. It was very easy to unload and pack back into the storage bag. I can only warmly recommend this top transporter. It worked great for us and included a lot more stuff than I expected!
