This carbide drill is very hard and very sharp, and with almost no pressure it was possible to cut through chrome-molybdenum-vanadium to drill alloy steel. For my particular application, I had to incrementally rotate the drill from 45 degrees to 90 degrees to get to the recessed end of the blind post. The racquet held up like a champion and didn't break despite lateral pressure. This is probably due in large part to its incredibly smooth and efficient cutting ability. This is a very high quality bat - I highly recommend it. Other people who use cobalt steel bits have been very frustrated. This Drill America carbide drill bit did the job in seconds where others took over 2 hours.
