Description of ๐Ÿ’ช Drill America DMOD1 Solid Carbide: The Ultimate Power Tool for Precision and Efficiency

Designed for drilling abrasive materials when drilling accuracy must be maintained. Can be used in high temperature drilling applications. Used on materials such as cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high silicon aluminum, copper, plastics, bronze, hard rubber, plexiglass, and other similar materials. Solid carbide tools offer long tool life and faster cutting speeds than other substrates, but are more brittle. Must be used with a rigid tool-holding systems.

Through Hole Hardened M390

This carbide drill bit is great if you either forgot to drill holes in your shank before hardening it or you drilled the wrong size hole and didn't do it. Don't discover your mistake until you've fixed it. In my case, I drilled undersized holes in some M390 blades. M390 is one of the most wear resistant steels after heat treatment. It holds an excellent cutting edge, sand is almost impossible to handle, and you can't drill it with a cobalt bit. I tried it and it hardly left a mark. So I wasโ€ฆ

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money. It's hard to believe that this is real hard metal. I hope you can enlarge the picture. This is what it looked like after trying to drill through 57 HRC stainless steel for ten seconds. Not even a small dent remains. I attached it, used a real carbide drill and drilled through the steel in ten seconds. I use carbide every day and this is the worst example I have ever seen. Maybe what I received was defective, but I want to use a familiar tool, pay more and end up savingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Electric Drill Parts and Accessories
Cons
  • Discontinued

This carbide drill is very hard and very sharp, and with almost no pressure it was possible to cut through chrome-molybdenum-vanadium to drill alloy steel. For my particular application, I had to incrementally rotate the drill from 45 degrees to 90 degrees to get to the recessed end of the blind post. The racquet held up like a champion and didn't break despite lateral pressure. This is probably due in large part to its incredibly smooth and efficient cutting ability. This is a very highโ€ฆ
