This carbide drill bit is great if you either forgot to drill holes in your shank before hardening it or you drilled the wrong size hole and didn't do it. Don't discover your mistake until you've fixed it. In my case, I drilled undersized holes in some M390 blades. M390 is one of the most wear resistant steels after heat treatment. It holds an excellent cutting edge, sand is almost impossible to handle, and you can't drill it with a cobalt bit. I tried it and it hardly left a mark. So I was impressed when this drill went through three different hardened M390 shanks. It screamed and complained but survived.
