Hoping to spare someone the heartache I just went through trying to replace my Switch. You'll need to reach under the dash to find this switch, then find the small spring-loaded release button on the underside of the switch and push it up to pop the handle and stem assembly out of the switch before it can be removed. Hyphen. The shank tip of the handle assembly is fixed in a bakelite piece inside the switch housing. Forcibly pulling without pressing the release button will simply break the bakelite and ruin the switch. I think it would be great if the manufacturer put a note on the new switch in the box. I didn't mention it in either repair manual.
